Gladys Cavalcante - Guest Teacher!

We are excited to announce that Gladys will not only be leading our Dance Ala at Pride but also teaching a parade performance class on Sunday 22nd July! 

 

So if you have always wanted to learn how to Samba in parades like a pro - come join us from 5-7pm on Sunday 22nd July at The Dance Station, Portslade. 

 

 

Gladys Cavalcante from Rio de Janeiro is a professional Brazilian Ballroom and Latin Dancer, Choreographer and Producer. She has been teaching and performing around Europe, Middle Eastern and Asia.


She is specialized in Brazilian dance styles like Samba no Pe, Samba de Gafieira, Forró, Bolero, Brazilian Zouk and Zumba.

In 2010 she performed in Britain's Got Talent Semi-final live show on TV with Dance Flavourz and produced "Brazil: Rhythms & Colours" dance show.

In 2011 She got the AWARD for the best Latin couple dance in UK by LUKAS (Latin United Kingdom Awards) also in the same year Gladys went to Tanzania to represent Brazil through the dance to the President and ex-Prime Minister's birthday Event.

In 2012 She was the Dance Coordinator of Samba de Gafieira team at the Closing Ceremony of the London Olympics and Choreographer of the Dance Ala at London School of Samba for Notting Hill Carnival!

In 2013 She was Choreographer and Dance Performer that represented Brazil in Qatar for the Royal family's charity event.

In 2014 She was representing Brazil through the dance tour a long to the government of Pernambuco (Northeast of Brazil) around Italy, Portugal & Germany.

In 2015 and 2016 She trained teenagers to perform Brazil Carnival Samba for Unidos da Mocidade Samba School.

2015 and 2016 She performed Forró Brazilian folk dance representing Brazilian culture for Brazilian Embassy Event in Trafalgar Square, Brazil Day. And performed for the Comedy Gala Award, Channel 4, in O2 Arena London.

At the same year she choreographed a fusion of Samba and Greek dance for Dance Ala for London School of Samba in Notting Hill Carnival.

Gladys produced a 30 minute dance show for Opening Olympics Game Rio 2016 at The Scoop, London.

2017, Gladys had produced 40 minutes Brazilian Dance Show for Ókabrazoka in Hastings at Brazilfest 2017.

Also Gladys dance team had representing Tropicana Beach Club, winner 2017, for The London Club & Bar Awards. 

 

We are so excited to have Gladys come and work with our dancers - she teaches people to create strength, beauty and power in their Samba!
