Tara Leads Ala Baiana - The Chandeliers of The Royal Pavillion!

We are delighted to announce that Tara will be leading our Ala Baiana for Brighton Pride!

Tara has been dancing since a young age when she trained in Tap and then later became a majorette, with Southminster Starlettes.

For over 20 years she has trained in Raqs Sharqi, Egyptian Dance, and has taught and performed in several countries around the world. Tara discovered samba in 2011 with Marta Scott Dance Company and then joined Brighton School of Samba, where she performed in the main Dance Ala, Pasista Ala, and led Ala Baiaina.

In 2012 she performed in the Brasilian flag handover ceremony for the London Paralympic Closing Ceremony. Tara trained with Rosangela Silvestre, including a course at her school in Salvador,Bahia.

Tara's passion for dances of the Orixa and the region of Bahia grew and developed. In 2017 Tara performed with the winning escola de samba, Mocidade, in the Rio Carnival.

Tara is delighted to be joining Beleza on parade, and leading Ala Baiana for Brighton Pride 2018 and we are so excited to have her as part of our Samba Family!
